Vietnam Itineraries

I spent about 4 weeks in Vietnam, and it was one of the best countries I've ever had the chance to explore. I have outlined some itineraries both for a 2 week and 4 week trip to Nam. If you want more than just itineraries, click here for my list of must do's in each region!

Suggest Itinerary: Full Vietnam

Duration: 4 weeks

Great for: Backpackers, those with long periods of time to travel

Hanoi - Sapa - Halong Bay - Hoi An - Dalat - Ho Chi Minh - Phu Quoc

*Full country tour, perfect for backpackers or those who have a lot of time

*Of course can tweak as you see fit, but these are some good bones to get a grasp of the whole country.

Suggesting Itinerary: Northern Vietnam

Duration: 14 days

Great for: First time in Vietnam, sticking to one region.

Hanoi (3 days) - Sapa (3 days) - Halong Bay (probably have to go back through Hanoi) (2 days) - Hue (2 days) - Hoi An (3 days) - Back to Hanoi to fly home (1 day)

*Perfect Itinerary for those wanting a comfortable amount of days in each place

Southern Vietnam:

Duration: 14 days

Great for: First time in Vietnam, sticking to one region.

Ho Chi Minh and Mekong Delta (4 days) - Dalat (3 days) - Hoi An (4 days) - Hue (2 days) - Back to Ho Chi Minh to fly home (1 day)

*Perfect Itinerary for those wanting a comfortable amount of days in each place

If I had to choose only one, my preference in Vietnam is probably the Northern Region, although the culture is much different when traveling between the two. Due to historic reasons, civil wars, etc. there is so much diversity from the North to the South.

I am also certain I missed a lot of places in the month I spent in Vietnam. So feel free to let me know which region and cities are your favourites!
