Easy Ways To Stay Fit On A Budget

This week on the blog...

Summer is over but that doesn’t mean we can’t still live a healthy, fit lifestyle. However if you live in a city like Toronto, we all know that keeping up your fitness goals can get verrrrry pricey.

If you're on a tighter budget this month, that's okay (ps. good for you for knowing what your financial situation is)! For those of you who want to get in your fitness, but keep your budget in check, here are a few ways you can still look and feel your best, without breaking the bank.

Tip #1: Fit Girl Walks

Remember, walking is free! Even if you're not a gym rat, there are still several ways to keep you active that won't cost you a cent. You can take a 30-minute walk across your neighborhood, join a great Fit Girl Walk (a few people on social media run them monthly), or grab friend in the area and go for a stroll.

Tip #2: Find the best gym membership deals

If you are more committed to exercising at the gym, look up for gyms that offer discounts, promo codes, or waived membership fees. Especially as we get into the new year, of course with January we ALWAYS see discounts and promos on gym memberships.

Tip #3: Stay hydrated

Water has zero calories and hydrates your body better than any other beverage. Drinking water is easy, free, and improves your overall health. Fruit-infused water is also refreshing and a delicious way to stay hydrated. Not exactly your 75 burpees, but you’ll still feel rejuvenated after lots of hydration.

Tip #4: Prep your meals and stop purchasing prepackaged foods

Meal planning is good for your body AND your budget, while on the other hand, processed and prepackaged foods aren’t. HOT TIP: Having your healthy snacks ready will help you curb junk food cravings! This will keep you feeling healthy all year long.

Tip #5: Have a workout buddy

Find someone who is pursuing a similar goal. Exercising with a friend or a partner is more enjoyable and motivating, and it helps you stay focused on your fitness goal. Again, doesn’t cost anything to buddy up with a friend, and use his/her condo gym (if you don’t have one of your own!).
